Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson Ventures into a Fresh Fast and Furious Spinoff, Parting Ways with Close Friend Jason Statham’s $760M Franchise Following Statham’s Departure for Fast X

Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson Ends Feud with Fast and Furious Co-Stars, Announces Return to Franchise with Hobbs Spinoff

After a highly publicized fallout with his Fast and Furious co-stars, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson decided to step away from the franchise. Despite previously stating that he would appear in the 9th and 10th installments, he did not share any scenes in the films. The publicized feud with Vin Diesel only added fuel to the fire.

However, it seems that The Rock is making his triumphant return to the Fast and Furious universe as Luke Hobbs, this time in another spinoff film. Sadly, fans will only see Hobbs in this untitled film, which will serve as a bridge between Fast X and Fast X: Part II, connecting the storylines.

When Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson made a surprise appearance in the post-credits scene of the tenth film, fans worldwide rejoiced at his return. The celebrations are set to continue as Johnson took to Twitter to confirm his comeback, despite his past differences with Vin Diesel.

“So, I’m 100% confirming to you guys around the world, that yes, it is true Hobbs is back. Hobbs is back in the Fast and Furious franchise.”

The actor shared that he will reprise his role as Luke Hobbs in the untitled film, which is currently in active development. However, this film will not be another spinoff presented by Universal and the franchise. Instead, it will serve as a bridge between Fast X and Fast X: Part Two. Unfortunately, Hobbs’ best friend, Deckard Shaw, will not be part of the film.

The question remains: Have Dwayne Johnson and Vin Diesel resolved their differences? After publicly criticizing his co-stars for their professionalism and using derogatory terms like “chicken sh*t” and “candy a**es,” Johnson later deleted the tweet. In a video explanation, he emphasized his “audience first” mentality and the importance of focusing on the bigger picture.

“In terms of the why, I think when you, despite us having our differences, me and Vin [Diesel], we’ve been brothers for like years, and despite having our differences, when you lead with the idea of number one resolve. But then, also you think about the future, you think about the plans that are much bigger than ourselves, and those bigger plans are the bigger building blocks. Those bigger plans are the north star, as I would like to say.”

“The north star is always my guiding light in whatever endeavor or opportunity that I am in, that I’m passionate about, I always keep a north star in my clarity and in my obsession. And in this case, the north star is the franchise that we love, the north star is the characters we love, and the north star is the fans that we love. When you add all that up, it’s really not a hard decision to make. It’s a yes. So yes.”

While the cast and plot of The Rock’s untitled film are still under wraps, fans can expect to see Jason Momoa reprising his role as Dante Reyes, who will be going up against Luke Hobbs, as confirmed in the video.
